I’m forgetful.

Birthdays. The names of the Great Lakes (and yours). Characters from books. Inside jokes.

I forget it all. There is no discrimination to what does and does not stick to my brain.

So, I hope you believe me when I say that I’ve never been able to memorize scripture.

I’ve tried a lot of different things: note cards, post-its, and plain ole focusin’ real hard.

None of it works for me.

But I like pictures and thinking and overthinking and writing. And I believe there’s significance and purpose in leaning in to what is true.

That’s what this is for me.

Every image is inspired by a verse, passage, or story from the bible that means quite a bit to me.

Sometimes I’ll include my rambling commentary about how everything correlates to my life.

Sometimes I won’t.

My prayer is that these images might help you in the same way they are helping me: a way to carry truth in places broken, unstable, and new. This project is how I remember the truth about who He is, who you are, and who I am. To the best of my knowledge, there are no certainties in life more important than those.

Any questions about the images or their meaning? Shoot me a comment. Send a carrier pigeon. Shoot a carrier pigeon. Do something. I’d love to chat.
